Learning must be accessible, dignified and safe.
KnowArk’s public safeguarding commitment explains the principles that guide our online academy, volunteers, educators and partner-center relationships as our operational policies continue to develop.
Report a concern or ask a questionThe learner’s wellbeing comes before convenience, publicity or growth.
Dignity and non-discrimination
Every learner should be treated with respect regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, disability, language, legal status or educational history.
Minimum necessary information
Initial inquiries should not include passports, immigration files, asylum case numbers, medical records or school documents.
Consent-based storytelling
Images and stories should be used only with appropriate informed consent and without exposing a learner to avoidable risk.
Access to learners carries responsibility.
Role-appropriate review
Learner-facing roles may require applications, interviews, references and legally appropriate background screening.
Clear expectations
Educators, volunteers and partner staff should understand professional boundaries, online conduct, reporting routes and privacy expectations.
Accountable delivery
Program leadership and partner centers should monitor learner contact, attendance practices and reported concerns.
Online access should not create new forms of exposure.
Approved channels
Learner communication should use approved program systems and avoid unnecessary private contact between adults and minors.
Privacy by design
Collect only information needed for a defined purpose, restrict access and avoid placing sensitive learner data in ordinary email or public tools.
Respectful classrooms
Bullying, harassment, racism, xenophobia, humiliation, exploitation and retaliation are inconsistent with KnowArk’s learning environment.
Concerns should be heard without retaliation.
If a learner, guardian, volunteer, educator or partner is worried about conduct connected to KnowArk, contact us through the website and select the most relevant topic. Do not send highly sensitive records through the general contact form. If someone faces immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency or child-protection authority.
What comes next.
This page is a public commitment, not a substitute for a complete board-approved safeguarding policy. KnowArk should finalize jurisdiction-appropriate procedures covering reporting, escalation, recordkeeping, screening, partner due diligence, digital communication, consent and periodic review before expanding learner-facing operations.
