Help build the bridge from refugee education to university.
KnowArk has confirmed a scholarship collaboration with African Leadership University to help high-potential refugee students move from interrupted schooling toward university study, leadership and lives of wider impact.
Help build the fundAsk about future application datesAdmission potential is not the same as access.
Refugee students can complete secondary education and still face a maze of tuition costs, language requirements, missing records, application systems and limited scholarship information. The collaboration is designed to connect preparation, application guidance and financial support into one understandable pathway.
Academic and English readiness
College preparation and ESL support can help students build the academic habits, confidence and language skills required for university study.
Applications and documentation
Students need guidance through admissions requirements, records, essays, deadlines and the questions created by interrupted schooling.
A scholarship pathway
KnowArk aims to mobilize donors and institutional support so qualified students are not excluded solely because displacement limited their ability to pay.
Confirmed collaboration. Awards are not yet open.
KnowArk and African Leadership University have confirmed a scholarship collaboration. KnowArk sets the scholarship terms. The detailed award guide and application dates will be published before applications open.
- Eligibility
- Refugee and displaced learners must meet KnowArk’s published selection criteria and ALU’s separate admission requirements. Specific criteria will be posted before applications open.
- Coverage
- The published award guide will identify covered academic costs, including whether ALU tuition and mandatory fees are included, and state all limits before applications open.
- Excluded costs
- Do not assume housing, living expenses, travel, visas or personal costs are covered. The award guide will identify exclusions and any exceptions.
- Admission is separate
- ALU makes its own admission and enrollment decisions. A KnowArk scholarship cannot guarantee admission.
- Renewal
- The published award guide will state any progress, enrollment, review and funding conditions for renewal before applications open.
- Award limits and timing
- KnowArk will publish the per-award limit, funded cohort cap, selection process and application dates before inviting applications. No award amount is promised here.
No guarantee: Expressing interest, applying, receiving ALU admission or donating does not guarantee a scholarship or admission.
Build it carefully. Explain it clearly. Select fairly.

Fund the first cohort

Open applications

Know what an award can pay for.
Covered academic costs
Coverage of ALU tuition and mandatory academic fees, if included, and any per-award limit will be specified in the published guide before applications open.
Costs outside the award
Housing, living expenses, travel, visas and personal costs should not be assumed covered. The published guide will state exclusions and exceptions.
Separate student support
KnowArk may explore preparation, language, connectivity and mentoring support separately. These are not included in the scholarship award unless expressly stated.

A scholarship works best when the learner is ready to use it.
Financial support can open a door. Academic preparation, English confidence, application guidance and a recognized secondary pathway help a student walk through it.
The KnowArk approachBuild the bridge before the final application: coursework, advising, college preparation and scholarship navigation in one connected journey.
Help fund a confirmed collaboration with clear student protections.
Donors can support development of the scholarship fund. Prospective students can ask when applications will open. Institutions and refugee-serving organizations can help shape a pathway that is academically credible and practically accessible.
